The pikachu with a black heart tail is only a couple of years old. It's unlikely anyone is getting confused with cosplay pikachu. Not that I think pikachu's tail ever had a black tip, I'm just saying it's more likely to be confabulation from his ears
It came from a combination of pichu having a black tail, pikachu's ear tips, and our child brains getting confused on exactly where the dark part of pikachu's gen 1 sprite art was.
Ash's Pikachu's power level is constantly fluctuating, making him an anomaly in the Pokémon World. That's why Team Rocket wanted this Pikachu specifically so badly, instead of any of the other Pikachu all around the world. My personal theory is this is the reason Ash's Pikachu does not want to evolve.
I played Pikachu (because female Pikachu's have heart tails and that's cute af) but I know Eevee has more signature partner moves. It's up to you and your preference tbh.

Once you start moving up the ranks, the opponents you face are a lot more challenging so reaching 3000 ELO can be a difficult task for GBL newbies.
Hello there and welcome back to todays installment of what do you nickname your pokemon. And today we have reached the beloved mascots for this game Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu.
Pikachu resembled a familiar, intimate pet, and yellow is a primary color and easier for children to recognize from a distance. Additionally, the only other competing yellow mascot at the time was Winnie-the-Pooh.
Pikachu was only ever KOd once in the master’s eight, and that was by destiny bond, a move it literally couldn’t fight back against. Flight is interesting, but Ash’s Pikachu has fought opponents who could also fly, so I don’t think that would really do too much for Cap.
