When I decided to visit Malibu again, I made a point to add the MASH site to my schedule, for two reasons. One because it wasn’t going to be muddy and two, some of my pictures didn’t come out. I was …Full review by jehenson81

This location is quite a hike from the state park trailhead parking lot. We weren’t quite prepared for 2.5 trek out to the site, but it was well worth it. The iconic mountain view from the MASH openi…Full review by AJC110756

I had quite the adventure to get to the Mash site inside Malibu Creak State Park. The rangers gave me good directions and it was smooth sailing to get there, until I reached the creek. During the w…Full review by jehenson81

If you want to save approximately 1/3 mile and go on the easiest walk, you can pay to park car in the lot accessible from Las Virgenes Cyn Road. From that lot, the majority of the hike to/from M*A*S*H site is slight incline/decline except for one big hill that a wide fire road wide dirt path ascends up then wraps around and descends the other side. I have seen toddlers and parents with kids in strollers (not prams) on this trail, including venturing beyond the M*A*S*H site. Having said that, if you are very fit and want to get a bit more exercise in the same amount of time, park on Mulholland Hwy just north of park entrance. There is a trail that leads from the street into the park, bypassing the parking area and meeting up with the main trail not far from the entrance. You get one more hill to climb ... is it a small ascent up on the way into the park, but a bigger hill to climb on the way out of the park.
can u drive right up to mash site cuz my hubby is handicapped and can't walk far or is there wheelchair access?
A:
No. There is a road to the site but I believe it's primarily used by the park service. Perhaps you could check and see if there's any programs that would provide the service.
