Stopped off at Queen's Park before heading to an appointment. Just wanted to get out and stretch the legs. The gardens were lovely, full of bright coloured flower's and looked so neat and fresh. Th… Full review by missfee27

Came here whilst the flower festival was on. Yes the park was busy but not overcrowded. The flowers for the festival were beautiful to look at and could see how much effort had gone into it Full review by Lorna W

Beautiful park, visited during the very beginning of the Toowoomba Flower Festival. It was extremely busy late afternoon on a Sunday. Glad I walked from the hotel, would not have found a park. Defini… Full review by MEKtravels
where is the best place to view the carnival of flowers parade for someone with mobility issues and how far would i have to walk from the shuttle bus that comes from picnic point? If standing around is diificult, is there somewhere near the end of the parade route that i can turn up to later say about 3:40 pm that is easily accessible from the shuttle bus where i can still get a view of the parade?

Hi. I'm not sure where the shuttle bus stops but I see a lot of tourist buses parked in Godsall Street during the parade. That is also where the parade ends, at the corner of Godsall and Hume Sts. The parade turns into Queens park on that corner. It would probably also be a good place for you to watch it although there is always a fairly big crowd on that corner. You can bring a camp chair and park yourself there and still get a good view of the parade.
Could you tell me the most worthwhile time to visit Queens Park. I have seen photos of it and I am wanting to bring an elderly friend with me to visit it and see it but we would not want to drive 2 hours if there would be no worth while floral display beds ( after Carnival of flowers) any advice would be most appreciated

That is a difficult question to answer, because the city gardeners are always replacing gardens once the annual flowers die off but they replant again quickly. I know that most of the garden beds of annuals are in the process of replanting at the moment. Not all plants are short cycle and there are some nice permanent gardens as well. The four main places to visit are Queens Park, Laurel Bank Park both in or near city centre.. Picnic Point a definite visit.. and maybe on the way back to Brisbane go via Spring Bluff Railway Station, half way down the range on the road from Mt Kynoch to Murphys Creek then on to Brisbane. Maybe if you are planning a visit, give Council a call on 131872 - the lady on customer service will contact Parks manager and check for you. BUT overall the best times for Carnival flowers is about two weeks before and after Carnival week (last week of September). There are quite a few exhibition gardens also. If you come to Toowoomba call in at the Tourist Information Centre, on the Main Warrego Highway in the centre of town - they are pretty well up on all that is happening. Best wishes.
