VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. — Ty Simpson was Nick Saban's quarterback at Alabama football, the five-star the former Crimson Tide coach recruited to move from Martin, Tennessee, to Tuscaloosa.

During Nick Saban's career at Alabama, he recruited and deployed some ultra-talented quarterbacks, namely, Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. Although Saban won't be on the sidelines this fall, his influence could still be felt, considering there are still plenty of players on the roster that he recruited.

Nick Saban has more on his plate than Alabama football. The former Crimson Tide coach is expected to join an upcoming federal commission on collegiate athletics set up by President Donald Trump. And Saban is expected to return to his post on ESPN's "College GameDay" this fall as a Sports Emmy Award nominee.
