The Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves completed their pre-game ceremonies but then entered a rain delay at Bristol Motor Speedway. The game will not start at its originally-scheduled first-pitch time of 7:15 p.m.

For all the planning and money and logistical achievements that went into staging the Speedway Classic, none of that guaranteed the weather would cooperate. It hasn't on Aug. 2, and we're in a rain delay at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The MLB Speedway Classic between the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves has been postponed due to weather. The matchup, which is the first ever MLB game played in the state of Tennessee, was set to take place at Bristol Motor Speedway.
