Mariners players have been honored with the AL Player of the Week award in consecutive weeks for the first time since Alex Rodriguez and Ken Griffey Jr. in 1998.

The Mariners designated hitter earned the weekly honor, which gave the team their first back-to-back weekly award winners in over 25 years.

Jorge Polanco of the Seattle Mariners was named the AL Player of the Week, posting a .471 average with four home runs, two doubles and eight RBI.
