Newhook was injured in the second period of a 7-0 loss to the Dallas Stars on Thursday when he was tripped by Stars defenseman Ilya Lubushkin while going in on the forecheck. Newhook fell and crashed into the boards feet first, with his right ankle clearly taking the brunt of the force and bending in a way ankles are not meant to bend.
