WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. applications for jobless benefits held steady last week as layoffs remain low despite uncertainty over how President Donald Trump’s tariffs will impact the economy.

More than 2,700 employees have indicated they want to take an incentive offer to leave the agency, though the final number is subject to change.

The Journal also reported that George Cheeks, co-CEO of Paramount Global and CEO of CBS, is helping negotiate the settlement as the company’s controlling shareholder Shari Redstone pushes for a resolution. Cheeks is expected to land a top job once Skydance closes the deal, The Post reported in March.

DENVER — Denver-based IMA Financial Group cut 130 jobs this spring in an organizational "restructuring," the company has confirmed. The layoffs, first reported by The Insurer, an industry trade publication, were confirmed by IMA Chief Operations Officer John Hearn in a statement to the Denver Business Journal.
