The woman in question, Kristin Cabot, has subsequently deleted her LinkedIn profile. Newsweek contacted Astronomer for comment via email on Friday outside regular working hours.

Kristin Cabot, who has found herself at the center of a social media firestorm alongside her company's CEO, is the Chief People Officer of a tech company named Astronomer. That CEO, Andy Byron, gushed about Cabot when she was hired by the company.

The company's board had the option to fire Byron, which would have left him empty-handed, sources said, making his resignation likely the most financially prudent move.
