Missouri basketball was imperfect for long stretches against Minnesota, but the Tigers exploded on offense in the second half to beat the Gophers.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers are 2-0 with lopsided victories against Gardner-Webb and Alcorn State. Those teams are a combined 0-7 and outside the Top 300 (with Gardner also losing to a Div II school), so don't give them too much credit for those wins.
Mark Mitchell scored 18 points to lead five in double-figure scoring, and Missouri pulled away midway through the second half and beat Minnesota 83-60 on Wednesday night.
The Tigers trailed early in the second half but pulled away quickly to hand Minnesota its first loss this season.
