Dispatch audio sheds new light on a shark bite reported earlier this week on Hilton Head Island. Town officials previously told WJCL 22 News that first responders were called out around noon on Tuesday to beach marker 24, which is located within the Sea Pines Resort.

Likely shark bite reported in Hilton Head waters Tuesday, officials say

The incident marked the first reported likely shark bite of Hilton Head’s busy summer season, according to Shore Beach Service director Mike Wagner.
