According to Professor Yunus, who is well-known for his innovative contributions to social enterprise and microfinance, everyone has a fundamental right to access the internet. He considers Starlink as being essential to closing Bangladesh’s digital divide, especially in rural areas where there is a lack of conventional internet infrastructure.

Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has invited SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to visit Bangladesh and launch Starlink satellite service in the country in 90 days. Yunus wrote a letter to Musk on February 19.
