LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Heavy downpours, hail, lightning and tornadoes are all possible Wednesday evening in the Louisville Metro into the overnight hours. These storms have the potential to cause damage and life-threatening flash flooding.

Wednesday will be a much calmer day for much of Northern California following the severe weather on Tuesday that led to a tornado warning. The National Weather Service also issued special weather statements for various parts of the region due to wind gusts of at least 30 mph and hail.

Cloudy with cool weather is expected today. Warm and humid weather returns Thursday with a chance of thunderstorms. A roller coaster ride with our temperatures will continue through this weekend.

Overnight, two tornadoes were reported in Kansas. Hail larger than golf balls was reported in Oklahoma. And 80 mph winds were reported in Nebraska.
