Region playoffs are underway for high school spring sports. Dozens of teams in baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, tennis and track and field are all fighting for the right to continue their seasons and play for state titles.

A flood advisory was released by the NWS Blacksburg VA on Thursday at 2:57 p.m. in effect until 7 p.m. The advisory is for Alleghany, Watauga and Wilkes counties.
