Positions 13-30 for the race will be established Saturday, while positions 1-12 and 31-33 will be determined Sunday.

This year’s race has plenty of storylines heading into it. Two-time defending Indy 500 champion Josef Newgarden, along with Team Penske teammate Will Power, were penalized during last weekend’s qualifying for failing tech inspection, leading to the two being pushed to the 11th and final row of the race.’

This year marks the first time that the grandstands have been sold out for the Indy 500 since 2016, with organizers expecting about 350,000 fans in attendance. A local television blackout in the Indianapolis area has also been lifted for the event known as the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

The parade will start at noon and air live on WTHR and WTHR+, with an encore presentation Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET on WTHR+.
