WA weather: Blizzard warning in Cascades

At 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, the NWS Seattle WA released an updated blizzard warning valid from Wednesday 6 p.m. until Thursday 5 a.m. for Olympics.
A powerful storm system is set to continue impacting the Pacific Northwest this week, bringing heavy rain to lowlands and snow to the Cascades.
Winds may gust at times from the south or west above 30 mph on Tuesday, but Wednesday evening and overnight will be the gustiest. This, as a compact low-pressure area forms and sweeps in, kicking off south to west winds above 50 mph with a risk for a few power outages.
Through the remainder of Tuesday, there will be some passing showers and mountain snow. Some of the heavier showers could contain some graupel or ice pellets at times. However, lowland snow chances are leaving with warming temperatures into midweek.
Blizzard conditions have been confirmed in another six counties that were hit hard by the powerful snowstorm that swept across New Jersey on Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, bringing the total to 10 counties. The National Weather Service said all of the three key conditions that are needed for a snowstorm to be technically classified as a blizzard were verified in these areas of the state: Atlantic County
Millions of people are being warned about the potential for blizzard conditions. The winter storm, the path of which has concerned forecasters for days, is now expected to bring "significant impacts" across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Sunday into Monday, the National Weather Service said Saturday, Feb. 21.
