Muppets like Elmo and Kermit the Frog have a sassy side that is coming increasingly into view and appeals to adult audiences too.

Elmo’s viral tweet checking in on friends was written by his 25-year-old social media manager, who was also involved with the “Sesame Street” star’s viral 2022 feud with a pet rock.

"Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?" the X page for the Sesame Street character posted. Many answers were brutally honest and downright cynical about the dread people are feeling.
