Much like its creator, Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence chatbot Grok was preoccupied with South African racial politics on social media this week, posting unsolicited claims about the persecution and “genocide” of white people.

Grok, the AI chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s X.AI and integrated into the X platform, has begun referencing violence against white South Africans in responses unrelated to the topic. Users reported Grok injecting comments about farm attacks and alleged racial targeting into queries ranging from viral memes to scenic photos.
