Following the deadly crash of a UPS cargo plane in Louisville, Kentucky, Channel 2 Action News Investigates started looking into the safety history of the type of plane involved and the UPS fleet.

UPS said the grounding is “out of an abundance of caution” and will affect about 9% of its fleet, according to a statement.

A recent system crash grounding numerous Indian flights could have been prevented. Air traffic controllers had previously flagged performance issues and urged timely system upgrades to meet global safety standards.

Channel 2’s Courtney Francisco was live in Louisville for Channel 2 Action News at 6:00. The vigil took place at the union headquarters, where UPS workers, their families and community members gathered to pay their respects to the victims.
