The National Weather Service forecasts that snow could begin falling in the morning before changing over to rain as the temperature climbs into the mid 30s in the afternoon. Forecasters expect an accumulation of about an inch of snow before it becomes a slushy mess.

By around 11, chances of a wintry mix will move in, and become likely as we head into the morning hours. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 20s. As we head early in the day tomorrow, there will be the potential for freezing rain before 11 AM.

A storm arriving in southern Maine on Saturday, just two days after a combination rain-and-snow storm swept through the area, is likely to bring another round of cold, wet weather.

Storm total accumulations through Sunday evening look to reach 2-4 inches in Chicagoland, with isolated higher totals in Lake and McHenry counties.
