To simplify the numbers: If a dozen eggs cost $2.00 and they have a 100% increase in price, they are now $4.00. If a dozen eggs cost $4.00 and they are on sale for 50% off, they are now $2.00.
Presently the store my wife shops at sells eggs for $5.99 a dozen. Yikes! Now, I refuse to poach eggs, and I won’t give up eating chicken to offset the supply and demand of yolk makers.
