Paramount-owned channels are at the center of the tug-of-war, and YouTube TV customers could see offerings like Comedy Central and MTV disappear.

Dozens of live television channels could soon disappear for YouTube TV subscribers as the streaming service continues to negotiate a new deal with Paramount, owners of CBS, BET, MTV, Comedy Central and more.

YouTube TV announced Thursday night that it has agreed to a short-term deal with Paramount to keep CBS, Nickelodeon and several other networks owned by the media company on the streaming service—avoiding a blackout of those channels—as both sides continued to negotiations over a new distribution deal will continue.
