There are now space camps for kids, teens and families with children as young as 7; the center also offers programs built around aviation, robotics and cybertechnology.

The goal is to help the campers work through their grief over the loss of a parent, grandparent, a loved one and even a pet.

Grief is not just one thing – nor is it something a day-long event tackles on all fronts. But the Wendt Center in Washington, D.C., tackles a lot.
