Environment Canada issued a special weather statement about the “potential for significant rainfall” in the city this week, which could lead to flash flooding.

Weather warnings and advisories stretch from Windsor through Hamilton, Barrie and as far east as Belleville. They include fog, freezing rain and snow.

A significant amount of rain is in store for Toronto on Friday night into Saturday and it may melt "much of the snowpack," Environment Canada says.
