Forecasters said frost and freezing temperatures could damage exposed outdoor pipes and kill crops and other sensitive plants.

A yellow weather warning for ice has been issued by the Met Office. The warning, external is in place for parts of Suffolk and Norfolk and comes into force from 16:00 GMT until 10:00 on Friday. The Met Office said scattered wintery showers could lead to some icy patches on untreated surfaces.

Northeast and north-central Florida counties, including Suwannee, Baker, Nassau, Union, Bradford, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Alachua, Clay, Columbia, and Duval, are under freeze warnings and cold weather advisories. These regions are bracing for temperatures as low as 29 degrees early Wednesday morning.

The Met Office has issued fresh weather warnings for ice after huge areas of the UK were hit by heavy snow. Parts of southern Scotland, the northeast, Yorkshire, the Midlands and East Anglia have been issued a yellow warning for ice.
