Newark Liberty International Airport is facing another FAA-imposed ground delay due to staffing shortages, after a telecommunications issue led to delays on Sunday.

The Biden administration is to blame for the ongoing air traffic control failures at New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport, and throughout the system, Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Monday.

A ground stop issued at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday has now been lifted. A ground delay is now in place.

An FAA advisory regarding conditions at Newark airport detail the average delays passengers can expect, and the audio from air traffic control issues has been released.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, at around 6:50 a.m., DIA was on a ground delay due to “runway taxi and construction.”
