Gov. Andy Beshear says the death toll is expected to rise as more information comes in following storms that struck Kentucky.

The watch comes as the National Weather Service in Louisville expects severe weather Friday afternoon into the evening, potentially bringing damaging winds, “very large” hail, heavy rain and tornadoes, the agency warned. In early April, days of relentless rainfall sent rivers cresting to historic levels across Kentucky.
