Michigan's minimum wage increased to $13.73 an hour to start 2026, up from $12.48 last year, under a bipartisan law. The rate for tipped employees rose to $5.49, 40% of the full wage, which businesses can pay as long as a worker's tips make up the difference. It had been 38% of the prior regular wage, or $4.74.
