How Greater Canton high school athletes fared in event finals Saturday at the OHSAA State Track and Field Championships in Columbus.

Ambrosio ran a 9:01.78 at the state tournament that year, which held up as a school record and top 10 time in the state ever, until Friedrich displaced him Saturday. Friedrich was the lone sub nine-minute runner in the field, finishing the race in 8:57.74. That’s the fifth fastest time the state has ever seen regardless of division.
