Iran launched a missile attack on Al Udeid Air Base — the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East, which President Donald Trump visited just last month — after the U.S. carried out a series of bombings against three nuclear sites in Iran over the weekend.

Explosions were reported near al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday after Iran vowed to retaliate for the U.S. assault on nuclear sites.

Iran has not publicly rejected the ceasefire but tensions with the U.S. and Israel remain high following a conflict that has stretched over 12 days. Both Iran and Israel have claimed "victory" in the war. Iran has suffered damages to key nuclear and military infrastructure while its missiles have hit deep into Israeli territory.

President Donald Trump says on social media that Israel and Iran have agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire” to be phased in over 24 hours.

"I am not concerned about a long-term war, because President Trump will not put up with it,” one Trump supporter told ABC News.

Tehran has built out its cyberattack capabilities in recent years but is expected to wield them in a way it expects wouldn’t trigger a U.S. response.

The United States assesses that Iran could carry out retaliatory attacks targeting American forces in the Middle East soon, although the U.S. is still seeking a diplomatic resolution that would see Tehran forgo any attack,
