Purdue basketball's Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer had a record-breaking performance in the Boilermakers' win over Rutgers on Tuesday
Bailey kept Rutgers in it with a tough pull-up jumper and made free throw to tie the game again at 32-32. Harper returned with 4:59 remaining in the half after the Scarlet Knights fell behind, 40-36. But then Smith kept coming, punctuating his early output with an alley oop to senior Caleb Furst and then hitting another three to go up, 45-37.
With the game tied at 14 in the first half, Ace Bailey threw down an incredible reverse dunk after driving the baseline. A Zach Martini three gave Rutgers a five-point lead. Purdue would get even at 19 before Rutgers went on an 8-0 run to take its largest lead of the game. From there, it was all Purdue.
