After missing Saturday’s contest against the Washington Capitals, Kiefer Sherwood of the Vancouver Canucks remains sidelined for the immediate future due to an undisclosed injury.
Sherwood (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, per Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com. Sherwood hasn't played since Jan. 23, so this move is presumably retroactive to that date. He has 13 goals,
Up next for Sherwood will be breaking the NHL's all-time single-season hit record, which Jeremy Lauzon currently holds. The Predators defenceman set the record last season by recording 383 hits in 79 games. With 35 games remaining, Sherwood needs to average 3.14 hits per night in order to set the record.
Kiefer Sherwood left early during the second period with an assumed injury. His last shift ended with 11:38 left in the middle frame and he finished with two penalty minutes.

Sherwood’s fiancee Ariela Smith had a cheeky reaction to his gameday outfit and hairstyle. Sharing a repost of the Canucks’ official Instagram photos featuring player arrivals, Smith captioned Sherwood’s picture requesting a funny petition on her Instagram stories.
The energy forward was part of last year’s Nashville Predators team, which turned their season around. On February 15, they sat 22nd in the league standings, five points out of the last playoff spot.
