On the same night that Graves announced his retirement at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, he joined the commentary team. Ever since the brand split in 2016, Graves has been a main roster commentator for both RAW and SmackDown. His return to NXT in 2025 surprised many fans, and Graves himself.

New details have emerged regarding the issues between Corey Graves and WWE, following Graves's outburst on social media recently.

The WWE has overlooked Corey Graves and opt for someone else to temporarily replace Pat McAfee in the commentators table alongside Michael Cole for RAW.

In addition to Corey's X post, Mike Johnson over at PWInsider reports that there have been rumblings for the past several weeks that Corey Graves wasn't happy with his on-screen "positioning" with WWE. This latest social media post would certainly seem to back that up.
