CBS Sports recently regraded all of the 2024 first-round picks, and while the Atlanta Falcons' pick of Michael Penix Jr. wasn't last, it was close.

The Jets are on a two-game losing streak, falling to the Baltimore Ravens, 23-10, last week and the New England Patriots, 27-14, in Week 10. The Jets' two wins this season are against the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals, wins that came back-to-back in Week 8 and after their bye in Week 10.

The Atlanta Falcons would prefer that a Michael Penix Jr. would start all 17 games in 2026. Yet, after the 2024 first-round pick suffered a partially torn ACL in his left knee, the Falcons will have to make other quarterback plans for next season.

The Falcons also announced on Friday that they are promoting wide receiver Dylan Drummond to the 53-man active roster. Drummond was a star of the preseason with 14 catches for 96 yards in three games of catching balls from Easton Stick and Emory Jones.

Longtime Atlanta Falcons center Todd McClure acknowledged that he is unsure if Michael Penix Jr. is the right fit as the Falcons’ long-term quarterback.

Kirk Cousins got the start for the Falcons threw for 199 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

The Atlanta Falcons take on the New York Jets on Sunday, looking to win their second consecutive road game against a two-win team, and it looks like they'll be without star wide receiver Drake London again.

Atlanta's defensive coordinator is New York's last head coach and defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich. He was with the Jets from 2021 to 2024 on Robert Saleh's coaching staff. Ulbrech ended up being the interim head coach in New York for 12 games last season.

The Atlanta Falcons will host the Carolina Panthers this Sunday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Falcons have lost four games in a row to fall to 3-6 on the season, while the Panthers are in second place in the NFC South with a 5-5 record.
