Southeast Michigan is facing several weather risks tonight into early Wednesday, including the potential for damaging wind, large hail, heavy rain, and even an isolated tornado, but the exact area that the severe weather will hit is dependent on a warm front.

Strong to possibly severe thunderstorms are expected across Southeast Michigan, beginning Tuesday night. These storms will last overnight and even into Wednesday morning as a powerful storm system moves through the Great Lakes.

Michigan severe weather: Updates as storms, damaging winds roll through the state
Rounds of severe weather and high winds stormed across the state on Friday, leaving destruction and power outages.
The tornado that touched down in Union City on Friday was the strongest tornado Michigan has seen in nearly 50 years. According to the National Weather Service, the tornado had maximum winds of 160 mph. This means the tornado was the strongest in the state of Michigan since an F4 tornado struck Kalamazoo and Eaton counties on April 2, 1977.
