Last week, a major shakeup between YouTube TV and Disney has been causing blackouts for viewers who rely on the app for watching Disney-owned channels. Unable to reach an agreement, Disney has been blacked out on YouTube TV.
“Unfortunately, Google’s YouTube TV has chosen to deny their subscribers the content they value most by refusing to pay fair rates for our channels, including ESPN and ABC,” a Disney spokesperson told Variety Magazine in a report on Oct. 30.
Sports fans have been hurt by the standoff between Disney and YouTube TV, but they're partially responsible for this blackout.
With the blackout of ESPN, ABC and other Disney networks on YouTube TV, 24% of subscribers said they have already canceled or plan to, a survey found.
