London's Heathrow Airport, one of the world's busiest hubs, will submit its proposal for a third runway to the British government by summer, its chief executive Thomas Woldbye will say in a speech on Wednesday.

London's Heathrow Airport is planning to build a third runway and carry out a multi-billion-pound expansion of two of its five terminals, its chief executive has confirmed.

Woldbye said Heathrow will submit its third runway proposals to the government this summer. He added that the project “can only go ahead if we meet the rules on noise, air quality and carbon that the government sets out in the Airports National Policy Statement”.
