Gemini, a crypto exchange run by billionaire twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, on Friday disclosed it had confidentially filed for a U.S. initial public offering, as digital asset firms seize on renewed market momentum.

The crypto exchange has been taking major steps to go public in the U.S., including hiring Goldman Sachs and Citigroup as its financial advisors for the IPO. Gemini had also settled a $5 million lawsuit by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, while the SEC ended its investigation into the exchange earlier this year.

Gemini, a cryptocurrency exchange platform backed by the billionaire Winklevoss twins, has filed to go public on the heels of the frenzied debut by stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group Inc.

The cryptocurrency company, which offers fully backed digital money for rapid global payments around the clock, priced its IPO above the expected range.

Circle Internet on Wednesday priced its upsized U.S. initial public offering at $31 apiece, raising $1.05 billion, adding fresh momentum to a growing pipeline of late-stage cryptocurrency firms eyeing public markets.

Circle, the company behind the $61 billion stablecoin USDC, made a roaring debut on the New York Stock Exchange Thursday, becoming the first stablecoin issuer to go public and making CEO and cofounder Jeremy Allaire a billionaire.
