Demand for private charter flights out of the Middle East has surged since the beginning of the US-Israeli conflict with Iran, with those who can afford it paying astronomical prices to leave the region.

March 12 (Reuters) - Global air travel remains severely disrupted after the war in Iran forced the closure of key Middle Eastern hubs including Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi, stranding tens of thousands of passengers.

As conversations around the Iran war continue to play out online, people are arguing for the term Middle East to be retired.

WASHINGTON, March 12 (Reuters) - The Trump ⁠administration ⁠has organized nearly 50 ⁠flights to return U.S. citizens from the Middle East since ​the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran began, a State Department official said on Thursday, and ‌officials said demand for the ‌flights has declined.

The yields on the 10-year gilt climbed 0.09 percentage points to 4.77 per cent while the yield on 10-year Bunds rose 0.01 percentage points to 2.94 per cent, a two-and-a-half-year high. Yields move inversely to prices.

The massive deployment of warships comes as some Middle Eastern nations are expected to reevaluate their alliances in a post-Iran war world, analysts said.
