Storms are on the way to North Texas, prompting a flood watch for most of the region from 7 a.m. Tuesday until 1 a.m. Wednesday. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for parts of Denton and Tarrant counties until 9:30 a.

An updated flash flood warning was issued by the NWS Fort Worth TX on Tuesday at 11:16 a.m. in effect until 1:30 p.m. The warning is for Denton, Johnson, Parker and Tarrant counties.

Flooding in Texas has already turned deadly earlier this week, when a 10-year-old girl was swept away in rising waters.

Recent storms caused concern after two homes were struck by lightning, marking the third incident on the same block in five years.

Thousands of dollars has been raised for the displaced family who was inside the home when the lightning struck on May 5.

A neighbor's home security camera captured the lightning strike and resulting fire. A fundraiser has been launched to aid the displaced family.
