Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, best known for her role as Shan Cai in the hit Asian series "Meteor Garden", has passed away at the age of 48.

Barbie Hsu, better known as "Da S" which means "Big S," caught the flu when she visited Japan with her family during the Lunar New Year, according to her sister.

MANILA, Philippines — The ashes of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu is now back in Taiwan after being cremated in Japan. Barbie’s family confirmed in a statement that her remains have arrived in her native country yesterday.
