NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Old Dominion University students were able to subdue the suspect “and render him no longer alive” in a shooting at the school Thursday morning that killed one person and injured two people,
Lt. Col. Brandon Shah was identified as the person killed in the shooting. He was an alumnus of the university and a decorated military veteran who served several tours in the Middle East. Shah enlisted in the Army in 2003 as an aviation operations specialist.
The Los Angeles Police Department identified the woman as 35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz. She has been booked for attempted murder.
