New York Yankees icons Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez had harsh things to say about their old team, and manager Aaron Boone was left to defend himself.

There isn’t a team under more pressure and a bigger microscope than the New York Yankees. While they hold a competitive 60-51 record, they’re currently playing some of the sloppiest baseball of the season — and it’s costing them.

"We're the Yankees," Boone said. "When we lose games, if it's in and around a mistake, that criticism is fair game."
