ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Governor Kathy Hochul is set to deliver her 2026 State of the State address on Tuesday. This marks her fifth time delivering the speech.
The governor outlined measures to counter the Trump administration on child care aid, vaccine standards, tax deductions and energy development.
Gov. Kathy Hochul used her fifth State of the State address to set up her 2026 re-election campaign, casting herself against the Trump administration and in sync with progressives who scored big wins last year with the election of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Governor Kathy Hochul has proposed a first-in-the-nation law requiring all 3D-printers sold in New York to include software that blocks the printer from creating a gun, as well as new protections for sensitive locations and the ability for New Yorkers to hold federal officers accountable if constitutional rights are violated.
In her address on Tuesday, Gov. Kathy Hochul of New York focused on affordability, while pushing for nuclear power and new restrictions on religious protests.
