Ricardo Jorge Santos, with the New Jersey State Police, is accused of shooting Semanchik and Webb before killing himself, prosecutors said. He was found dead in a white Mercedes SUV parked in Piscataway. A gun was located inside the vehicle, the release stated.

A New Jersey State Trooper -- once entrusted with protecting the governor -- gunned down his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend before killing himself.

Allison said Semanchik treaded carefully about whether to lodge a restraining order because Santos was a police officer while Deanna added, “She just hoped that he would go away.”
