North Texas is in for a wet and soggy weekend, which might put a damper on Easter weekend plans. On Easter Sunday, North Texas has a high chance of showers and storms during the early morning hours, bringing a flood threat as a cold front moves through.

Beginning on Friday night, a 40% chance of rain and storms will return to North Texas and persist until Sunday morning.

A few light showers are possible in northwestern parts of the region (west of Gainesville) in the afternoon hours on Friday, April 18, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. By late Friday, thunderstorm chances will begin in the same area and spread into the Interstate 35 corridor overnight and into early Saturday, April 19.
