Taylor Mays, a former O'Dea High School star, is reportedly returning to Seattle to become Washington's new safeties coach.

Former standout USC safety and assistant coach Taylor Mays is headed back home as he officially joined the coaching staff of the Washington Huskies on Thursday. Mays will join head coach Jedd Fisch’s staff as the safeties coach.

Coaching changes have been rampant as defensive coordinator Steve Bellichick followed his dad, Bill, to the North Carolina Tar Heels, and one of the top transfer portal additions, WR Johntay Cook, was dismissed from the team earlier this week. After a tough season that finished with a 6-7 record, the offseason has been up and down so far.

The UW Huskies are hiring Taylor Mays, a former star at Seattle’s O’Dea High School, as their safeties coach, according to multiple reports. Mays, a former All-American safety at USC, is set to replace Vinnie Sunseri, who left Montlake after one season to become the defensive coordinator at Jacksonville State.
