Paul Dominique Laxalt (/ ˈ l æ k s ɔː l t / LAK-sawlt; August 2, 1922 – August 6, 2018) was an American attorney and politician who served as the 22nd governor of Nevada from 1967 to 1971 and a United States senator representing Nevada from 1974 until 1987.
