This Scarlet Tanager is one of many migratory songbirds we've taken in recently due to window strikes. After multiple days of treatment, this bird was successfully released to continue their migration south! Although it was once receommended to put a bird that had hit a window in a box and let it sit for a few hours, then release, that advice is now outdated and inappropriate. A bird striking a window is a medical emergency, and window-struck birds should not be released without being evaluated
