Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS) is a measure of myocardial deformation that reflects the percentage of shortening of LV fibers in the longitudinal direction during systole. More negative values indicate better LV contraction. GLS is more sensitive than EF for detecting subclinical LV dysfunction. 🔹 Normal GLS Ranges (ASE/EACVI Guidelines) Normal: –18% to –22% ✅ Borderline: –16% to –18% ⚠️ Abnormal: > –16% (less negative)
